Steps to take to counter Wi Fi disadvantages

Wi Fi at the outset seems like the best idea possible for an easy to use and connect wireless network, but there is also a downside to the whole usage of the Wi Fi network as well.

For instance, the speed will differ. In most cases you will notice that a wired network will have a greater speed than the same wireless network that you may be using. There are many ways and options that you can use to make the connectivity and the speed of the wireless network faster but it becomes very expensive, that entire process. So if you are planning to be cost efficient and yet you want the same speed that you get with a wired network then you would have to stick to the wired network itself instead of going for a wireless connection which would only lower the speed.

Also, you will notice that if there is a lot of obstruction in the path between the transmitter and the receiver then there will also be low speed connectivity. So if you want the connection to be as fast as it is possible on that particular wireless network and also if you want the connection to be reliable then you need the pathway between the transmitter and the receiver to be as free of obstructions as possible. Also, the speed of the connection will fall drastically if there are possibilities of other sources that could interfere with the connection. If the wireless network is open for use then there might be plenty of devices around the network that could be operating in the same frequency range and that could pose a problem to the general speed and connectivity of the network. Also, if you do not have the right kind of security available to protect your wireless network, you would be leaving the internet connection which is in your name open to the use of anybody who comes within the range of the wireless network and they would easily be able to access it. Unauthorized accessing of the wireless network can lead to the exploitation not only of the wireless network as a whole but could also leave the device bare open to be accessed through the Wi Fi.

However you must know this, that even the best of security that is offered for wireless networks are not a hundred percent secure, all these security systems can be defeated. So you are never completely secure if you are using a wireless network.
